Hi, I'm Erika!
I'm Erika Lawal, a UKCP registered psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer.
The Therapy Hour is a psychotherapy practice that is the product of my 30+ years’ experience of working with individuals and groups in statutory, voluntary and commercial organisations as well as with private referrals.
Top of agenda in working with people is to ensure that the services we provide are effective, relevant and user-friendly, even to those who might never normally seek the services of a mental health professional.

Why The Therapy Hour?
Derived from an integrative approach to psychological work, our aim is to shape our practice and methodology to the unique needs of each client, rather than attempting to “shoehorn” people into a pre-determined way of working. The formulation of an individual package based on feedback from the most recent research starts from the very first moment you contact us, when we begin assessing what you might require.
Integral to our work is the need to practise in the context of a real world outside the therapy room. We work with an awareness of the importance of identity, culture and social inequity in helping to shape a sense of self and therefore welcome work with women, Black and minority people, people with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ+ community that takes these factors into account.
